I collected my folder of papers at registration and discovered there would be about 800 people in attendance during the weekend. WOW! Today I would meet more than 200 artists.

Friday, a special day for illustrators only, was filled with workshops and seminars. The first panel of the morning was led by Tomie DePaola, who questioned three very unique artists about their work and how they got their start in children's books: Rebecca Doughty, Sean Qualls and David Ezra Stein.
